I'm sick of winter and am thinking, wouldn't it be cool to live somewhere warm.
I've never been to Dubai although I know a few people who have , most have remarked on how nice it is. Wall to wall sunshine, relaxed, good golf and kind of western too.
The instances of scare stories aside- I came across this Dubai Property site and was surprised to learn how relatively cheap the properties are. Did you know you can buy a two bed apartment from as little as 57k or a 2 bed from as little as 114k. Compared to places like London which has guaranteed rain and grumpy bastards, I thought this was a pretty good arrangement
A further look into that domain itself revealed that on average investors could look at a return over 3 years of 8%, guaranteed! So hey, I can earn 8% and be warm into the bargain come winter! Hmmn, if only I can find someone to do my job for free :D

I think "guaranteed" is perhaps a bit presumptuous, but Dubai does seem like a nice place to live. Unfortunately though, every nook and cranny on this planet has good and bad points, and it comes down to which ones you're willing to sacrifice for the greater good or which ones you can live with. I would love to live somewhere warmer but I'd have to organise a job elsewhere, something which becomes tricky if I don't speak the local language. And I'm pretty certain that grumpy bastards are everywhere; you can't escape them. ;-)
