I'll click an ad if it is something relevant to me at the time. As far as giving thanks, I'll do that with an email, comment, or link.

I have minimal amount of ads on my blog and would always appreciate a click if the content is good and the ad is related to the content (read: worth clicking).

But to be honest, I'd prefer a good comment much more than a click :)

But hey, a comment and a click is always a good option too! :D

I currently don't have a blog, but I normally do both - Leave a comment and click an ad (or two). I enjoy feeling like I might've just put some change in someone's pocket. Does anyone know which ads are pay-per-click and which are monthly?

This falls in line with the other Note on etiquette. Very thoughtful, though. Like Erin, I might think to click ads a few times now, as well.

If I like a blog post, I will most definitely at least leave a comment. :) I appreciate the same when I'm on the receiving end.

Clicking an ad isn't helpful for bloggers publishing flat rate ads as opposed to CPM ads. (Pardon my possibly wonky terminology.)

Text Link Ads, for instance, don't pay per click, instead being a flat-rate. Also hugely popular. You're not helping anyone but the advertiser by clicking them.

At least, this is how I understand the system. Do correct me if I have it wrong.

Either way, a single click on any ad isn't really worth much. I'll take the comments.

I've never clicked on someone's ads as a thank you, though now that I think of it, I might in the future. But normally, I just leave a comment.

If I'm really, really impressed with a blog post, I'll email the author directly. I've had a few emails like that, and they always warm my heart.

Either is fine. Although I *do* run ads, I highly appreciate comments.

Sometimes after I read a good blog post, I feel like I owe the writter for their efforts and want to say thank you. I can say "thank you" in two ways. The first way is to simply leave a comment. The second way is to click on one of their ads.

I do this not in a spammy kinda way, I just look on the page for an ad that I would potentially be interested in and click on it. I then do take a moment to look at the advertisers website. So let me ask you - if I came to your site and read a good article of yours, what would you choose as your "reward"? A comment or some extra change in your pocket?
