It didn't just come to control these things by magic. It came to control them by making money through providing valuable services. Nothing wrong with that. </p> <p>Also, since Google has bought Performics, I doubt it will continue to cost users. Temporarily it does, but I imagine this will be changed soon. Google has done that several times with other things (see <a href="http://www.actualmetrics.com/compare/google-analytics/urchin-5-software/">Urchin Software vs Google Analytics</a>). As part of the DoubleClick deal, Google now owns SEO service provider <a href="http://www.performics.com/"> Performics</a>.</p> <p><a href="http://www.doubleclick.com/">DoubleClick’s</a> <a href="http://www.performics.com">Performics</a> offers search engine services that include “<a href="http://www.performics.com/performance-marketing-solutions/search-marketing/natural-search">natural search solutions</a>” such as indexation, content optimization and link building.</p> <p>Performics has been offering both SEO &#38; SEM services for quite a while now. However, with Google's acquisition, Google now via Performics is offering SEO services. Does this imply that Google is now charging internet users to use their services via Performics to get a boost in their search ranking? Isn't that a huge conflict of interest? </p>
