Jewelry Website | Do you shop jewelry online?

A friend of mine is building a jewelry website. Had a few questions:
1. How many of us shop jewelry online? If yes, which sites are the most trusted and visited ones?
2. Do people use the "comparison" / "compare jewelry" feature on jewelry websites while they're shopping? Is it really effective?
Would appreciate the help!

I've never bought jewelry online until I found SilverJewelryClub, which gives away free (yes, really) jewelry that hasn't previously sold from their stock; all you pay is the shipping. And it's really great stuff. For $8.50USD, I got a pair of teardrop earrings shipped to Australia. <3
In terms of jewelry, what I would recommend is that your friend not sell anything too traditional. She'll have too much competition in that sector. The Internet is great for niches, though. If she can sell original, creative works/unique designs, she'll have something that can stand out.
