Hey guys,
I recently bookmarked and then UNbookmarked THIS web site. I thought it was good for learning about new bits of technology. The writer of the linked blog above has been posting stupid trolls about the music industry. The original Op Ed from Billy Bragg is HERE.
I urge you all to read both carefully and make up your own mind about it.
I also urge you to boycott everything TechCrunch.
With all the solid content here I can't conscienably promote or follow the site. For the love of all that's HOLY, the author of the blog posted a link to another blog (written by HIMSELF) to support his argument. He basically quoted himself to support a "fact". NO outside support for his arguments.
Please help me spread the word.

P.S. the horrid little man that posted the crap blog is also the "big cheese" of the web site.

Arrington is an insufferable ass.

That aside, his site isn't horrible. He's got good content a lot of the times, when he's covering stories instead of op/ed. I stopped reading Tech Crunch about a year ago. It doesn't have anything close to a monopoly on tech stories, I don't think any site can do that nowadays. The information spreads so fast that who has the story first is becoming irrelevant, who covers it more thoroughly and evenly has become a lot more important to me.

The thing is, strong opinions make for good writing and reading even if you don't agree with them. An overbearing personality is almost necessary for an entertaining blog. Arrington isn't entertaining to me anymore, so I quit reading, but obviously he's got some longevity left in him. Just take it with a grain of salt, or don't!

My friend, there's not enough salt OR pepper in the world. Tobasco sauce will only hurt me more. I'd have to pour it in my eyes.

Do I sound bitter? ;-)

It appeared to be an opinion piece. I don't read those kind of blogs so I have no care about them, but I assume those who do will make up their own minds.

I saw a lot of linkage to that post a few days ago but never read it, and decided to do so. I don't agree with a lot of the post, but artists demanding royalties from the Bebo sale is just ridiculous. When they originally uploaded music they did so under the Terms and Conditions set forth at the onset, which said that they were getting no payment for their music. When did that exactly change? When did Bebo ever shoot out an email to all artists and give them shares in the company?
