Is something terribly wrong with (mt)?

Has anyone else noticed that (mt) is ridiculously slow lately?
At first I thought it was my connection (which nearly spun me into a whole new dimension of pissed off). But, it seems like the slowdown is only on blogs I read hosted on (mt), none of the other sites I frequent are even remotely slower.
In fact, one of the sites I love (531) won't load at all.
I remember a time when people couldn't stop singing (mt)'s praises, I've seen a couple notes here and some posts elsewhere that seem to be singing a different song these days.

Sounds exactly the same as my problem here.

9rules was even running slow last night... it seems okay now though.
But yeah 531 is going really really slow... Still trying to connect as I type this.

From my leg of the internet 9rules was unreachable last night for a while.

9rules was slow last night due to the Kermit Note reaching Digg (we need to tweak our code), that had nothing to do with (mt) at all so please don't confuse the two. (mt) has been nothing but good for us, but as with any company that has over 100k users, experiences will vary.

Which is an issue to keep in mind, there are a lot of different factors to consider when a site is acting slow (huge linkage, shitty coding, etc) before automatically assuming it's the host. I'm not saying it is (mt), but I'm not saying it's not (mt) without knowing what is going on with the site.

I do agree that lots of mt sites are ridiculously slow right now...
BUT, I'm on dreamhost, and I would be lying if I said that we never experience downtime (sometimes, lots of it all at once). Though, we pay less (and I really think we get more)!
I think hosts should have a standard of 99.9% uptime, but for what I actually pay, I can't complain..

By the by, is this the place for people to vent about mt?
I feel like a lot of notes are dedicated to hating on mt. Is it because this is where your voices are actually heard?

regarding 531..you see it on the front page of digg? I think that movie file had something to do with slowing down his dv..on the front page of digg (cough)

I noticed that 531 ended up on Digg. Great for Derek, but damn, I didn't realize that good publicity could slow your site to an absolute crawl, kinda seems counterproductive.
I wasn't trying to hate on (mt) it was just very strange that so many sites on their servers were so slow for me. Scrivs is right, it could be anything.

yah Carmodyarc..
getting dugg is what used to be what getting slashdotted was..which meant you went down due to load. One of the reasons we developed the Grid was handle massive massive load, and as we all know..it's had its problems. But it's also seen a SLEW of our clients through a front page digg experience without blinking.
the (dv) is a plan with dedicated resources..much like a dedicated box...that's when you need a quick connection to support to amp up your plan's resources (which is instant on a dv)) to survive a digg...having a very efficient site helps tremendously as well.
