Where's that 'Blogging Community' to post a note in when you need it? Hope this will do.

I currently have 297 subscriptions in my feed reader. I thought it would be nice to make it an even 300.

What three blogs do I need to read?

Don't just add your own for the sake of it, and don't say Scoble or something like that. We've all been there. I'm not sure what I'm looking for exactly. Perhaps just something that surprises or fascinates. It could be about cats or SEO. Well, maybe not those.

I thought of this when I saw Ben's (Open Switch) promising new series 100 Blogs in 100 Days.

I may end up just short of 400 this way, but what are those 26 hours in a day good for anyways, eh?

(First posting was cut short - sorry for those who read only half of it)

First one's in there already. Checking out the others. Worldlustitude looks promising. "Nanoschlong: a tallywhacker only an amoeba could fellate." You have to respect wordiness like that.

Polyglot Conspiracy, then!

And yeah, nanoschlong made me titter, too. But that's because I'm a wankerologist.

300?

THIS IS SPARTA!

Thanks Norbert. Guy sounds interesting. Added.

Peroty, I'd have to check, but I think I crossed the 300 mark already. These suggestions are great. Keep them coming I'd say.

You could always read mine :)

Seanrox, thought you were in there already. Apparently I lost you. Fixed, though.

Amentele, had Kottke, checking out the others.

As an unexpected side-effect, this is getting interesting. You take a look at all these blogs and see how one decides in an instant. So far it has been a 10 second scan at most, reading a couple of first sentences and having a quick peek at the About.

I wonder how my own blog would fare under such high-stakes scrutiny...

@Nils: Yeah, I get lost sometimes... it happens... however thank you for finding me again ;)

You're added to my reader now too.

Copyblogger is solid gold. Brand New is always a good read. And, if you like looking at photos... ;)

Thanks, Joe. Two out of three I'm already subscribed to ;-) I like the direct approach of Brand New. Could be inspiring, useful and fun.

Thanks for the input all. I'll catch up tomorrow.

Like seanrox, I vote for my own site :P

I had the same situation the other day, but in reverse. I had 98 subscribers to my feed (as opposed to my subscribed feeds) and I was thinking "two more!!!1". But then it went down to 91. Today, however, I'm at my goal of 100, so I'm happy.

My own site is crap, so I offer up two fantastically written web comics.

XKCD and A Softer World

Well, I'll nominate my site for a coveted feed reader spot and I'll also suggest I Can Has Cheezeburger? (possibly already in your feed reader) and Lilium.

Is it morning already. Thanks for the suggestions.

Connor, funny but I had you. Just like Sean you were gone. I must have chucked a lot of tech stuff once when it got too much. What a mistak-ah to mak-ah.

Peroty, tell me what's wrong with yours and I won't subscribe. Have XKCD, A Softer World doesn't have me in stitches yet, but it does look original; precisely what I was looking for. Can't seem to find the feed though.

http://notcot.com

Nils, I demand that you share your OPML! I have only 130 subscriptions, and would like more. (And was only able to gain 1 new subscription from this note, thus far.)

Actually, I've been looking for a good way to share my OPML. Not just upload the file somewhere, but actually share the feeds as I update them.

If I simply export it now, by next week things may look different again. That's why I moved from browser based bookmarking to del.icio.us.

I need a del.ico.us for feeds (without having to switch to another reader).

Jason, thanks for the notcot link. Looks rather eclectic.

Yeah, just a normal OPML file isn't much use to most people -- I don't want all 300 of your feeds, just a select few.

Some sort of tool to extract the URLs to the sites and their feeds and output it in a readable and accessible way would be awesome.

I'm going to go ahead and predict the next "Web 2.0" app.

Feed Extrctr

"Want to keep up to date on your friends' collection of RSS feeds and share your own? Look no further, Feed Extrctr has your back. With an easy to use ajax interface and social networking tools you'll be up to date on all your feeds."

I hereby copyright this atrocity as my own, hah.

Although I do sense the irony, that is actually a cool service, Jeff. Now, if you'd be so kind as to actually make it, that'd be sweet, thanks.
