I've recently launched a site powered by ExpressionEngine, and expecting it to grow quickly over the next few months. The problem is, it's currently running from my existing Dreamhost account. Despite all my optimizations, it still won't hold in the long haul. So I'm looking for some kind of a scalable, dedicated solution.
I've heard mostly good things about Dedicated Virtual from MediaTemple with the single exception of N Design Studio, who experienced serious issues even on a 512mb dedicated. I've also heard good things about Joyent Accelerator, but I don't know how effective it actually is on a larger scale. Does anyone know?
I'm looking to spend between 50 and 100 per month.

Check out the Managed VPS starting at $49/month from WiredTree. I've been on it since February, and it's been nothing short of spectacular. This month, I'm running at 99.96% uptime according to Pingdom. And the customer service is great. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Go for Media Temple, all the way.
Their (dv) servers are great. I'd get the midrange ($100) setup, not the base. I've had a (dv) server with them for a couple years now and had no issues. I also have a grid server plan, which admittedly has many issues. But the (dv) servers are blazing. If you ever get really popular, they have a (dvp) Nitro service that will let you migrate your (dv) to a dedicated.
Bottom line -- while their grid server has been under scrutiny lately, there is no denying that their (dv) systems and dedicated servers are amazing.
