I've always been very amused seeing what search queries and keywords bring people to my site. It's fascinating to see what content gets attention, how often, etc.
Lately I've been noticing a lot of traffic from Microsoft's search engine, Live.com. The thing is, it's really strange traffic. The queries I'm seeing are generally one word like Thoughts or Person. I've looked all over in the pages of results and have seen not one link to my site on those queries. This confuses me a great deal.
What are some of the more amusing keywords and search phrases that get to your sites? Do you have any minor mysteries like my Live.com traffic?

I'm getting a lot of one word live.com searches too and the oddest thing is that 75% of them are months (october, april, march). I'm also getting stuff like economics, state and reserve.
REALLY odd.

I have the same issue with the live.com traffic. It's usually EXTREMELY common words like "apple" or "music," too. I can't help but think there's some little kink that makes Live Search an easy tool for spam bots? Go figure, it is Microsoft...

They aren't really "strange" (in that I know why I'm getting hits from them), but I am amazed at how often people show up at my site after searching for "fermented shark", "iceland rotten shark", and variations on those things. I wrote a post months ago on a segment in Viking Age Iceland, which remarked that Icelanders would bury shark meat in a barrel full of shark urine, then dig it up months later and eat it.
I never would have imagined that so many people would be searching for information on that (or the modern practice of it, which yes, still exists). I get at least 2-3 hits daily from such searches.

Make Your Penis Bigger
At least those were the top two searches that lead to my blog until Google's recent streamlining of it searches. Just as well too. Do you know how many people a day come to make their weiner bigger just to find out I'm talking about spam?
A lot of sad men out there.

Yeah.... we still do that.
But it's not stored in urine. It's buried in order to drain the meat's poisonous uric acid. No barrel of urine, sorry.
I'll buy you some if you ever visit ;)
Edit:
I've actually noticed that there are fewer irrelevant/weird searches leading to my site lately. Some of the more fun searches leading people to me today are:

@hthth: Aw, no urine? Darn. ;) Are you sure it's not used by some? Here's the text from the book that I mentioned:
Oh, and by the way - thanks for the offer, but no thanks. Yeck! :P

Top key phrases to my site in 2007.
So yeah, I think at least some of those support the statistic about how the Internet is used a lot of sex-related searching and content!
Just for fun, here are some of my favorites. They aren't necessarily the most popular. Some were even used only once. But they are definitely funny and weird.
